Phil drove the rental car as Jason cataloged their small inventory of weapons:  Two AR-15’s with scopes and two clips each, two pump-action shotguns, four boxes of shells, two nine millimeter handguns with two fully loaded magazines for each, and two very sharp hunting knives.  Since Jason had never fired anything other than a hunting rifle in his life, regardless of his Texas roots, the shotguns were a necessity.  The Jason of this reality may have weapons training, but that information wasn’t in this Jason’s database.

The handguns and the knives were for when things inevitably went to hell, and they were required to fight in close quarters.

“For once, Uncle Phil, I’m thankful the gun laws in this country suck,” he said as he looked over their stash with a smil...
