We spent the rest of the day at my house. We first released and fed the still unexplained chimpanzee that Shirley had locked in my bedroom and fed him. I made a pot of herbal tea for the grownups and we all settled down in the living room for a story from Shirley. Mikhail chattered from his car basket and Martha curled up in my lap and purred as Shirley relaxed us all with one of Sherlock Holmes's adventures.
