I then turned my attention to the other one, who had managed to roll over onto his back, blood oozing out in a dark crimson pool around his head. He'd taken his phone from his pocket and dialed someone, but was too weak to hold it up to his ear.
“Jason, ya there, man? What the hell's going on?” I heard a tiny voice say, and I stomped on the small device, digging in with my heel to crush the phone, and the hand that held it, to a bloody pulp. He screamed and made a feeble swipe at my ankle to try and to push my foot off, but only got as far as resting his hand on the top of my bootlaces.
