“Oh my God!” Isabel exclaimed.
“I'll... be... f... fine,” I stammered weakly, taking a few ragged breaths. I began to rub the edge of one of the bands against the knife-shaped tip and it started to fray almost immediately, but the pain from the pressure I was putting on the harpoon was excruciating, and the plastic was biting deep into my skin. I was briefly elated when I cut through the first band, but that rapidly faded when I remembered I still had three more to do.
