“I’m glad you came. How’ve you been?” She cringed at her inability to ask about anything other than the mundane when all her mind wanted to do was find a way to convince him to wrap his incredibly long arms around her and make her forget her name. She wasn’t sure she could ever trust him, not after all that had happened with Josh, but if there was a chance she could finally move on and find love, she wanted it to be with him. She needed him, the way she needed to breathe, and awash in the newness of that sensation, completely missed the response he gave. Katerina saw his lips move and nothing came through her ears.
