When Evelyn’s mother grew ill, it was Mikael who stood behind Evelyn, her rock, her strength. He was her best friend, the only one she would ever rely on in times of need. They’d shared over a year of blackened nights and knew that there would never be anyone who understood them better than they understood themselves. What they didn’t expect was the day that Evelyn’s mother died, Evelyn began to withdraw.
