“So where is it?” I asked.
“Right here,” Valerie said pushing a button on her handheld. A small plastic card slid out from the bottom.
I’d never had one before, but I knew what it was. A credit card. The Corporation issued them in leu of actual dough when your numbers where too big to risk carrying around hard currency. They were supposed to be a safer alternative. I had heard stories though of the Corporation draining people’s balances for no reason. I kept the information to myself.
“Baby, we’re rich,” I said, leaning in and kissing her hard on the mouth.
