Albert Eccleston had not slept since his master had left for his business meeting in Hartley the previous day. The joyous pealing of bells calling the faithful to worship at the Parish Church gave him no comfort. The faithful butler would not be comforted until Sir Templeton Taylor had been found, alive and well.
