Detective Chief Inspector Wright Watson prided himself on his appearance. Every morning he would get his wife and children to inspect him up and down, front, and back, to make sure that he was in a fit state to go work.  

‘That’ll do, Wright.’ Nancy Watson brushed some specks off her husband’s shoulders, patted him on the buttocks and kissed his cheek. ‘Off you go, my handsome police detective. Do what you have to do.’

The DCI checked to make sure that the children were all otherwise occupied, then hurriedly kissed his wife full on the mouth.
