Chapter Nine

New Allies

After a wonderful evening out with Cassey, we returned to our residence, only to find ourselves giggling like school girls together in my private bed chamber. Exchanging pointed words about all the silly moments of our outing. It began to dawn on me that we had consumed too many beverages and still were enjoying more as we bantered to each other for fun. Yet it had been hundreds of years since I had enjoyed myself like this. It was long overdue and I knew it might never come again as the affairs of worlds were boiling over across both my world and earth’s realities. Life was not always fair, so having a few moments for self were few and far between.
