“So she didn’t return for the weekend? Wasn’t that strange?”

“It would have been but I took Susan away for a break. I hadn’t spent much time with her and I felt we needed to bond. So I took her to The Entrance. We returned Monday morning and I assumed Gail had gone off to work.”

“You reported her missing on Tuesday?”

“Tuesday night.” Tom drank more water.

Markus took out another mint and put it in his mouth. He regarded Tom and was comfortable that he was telling the truth. “Did you notice anything unusual about her movements or activities recently?”
