Chapter 4

Four days later, a Tuesday, Connie wondered why Errol had not contacted her. She was in a meeting in a large conference room on level 15 with members in her team and she was bored with the conversation on workflow. She gazed outside, thinking about the night she spent with him. It was a sunny day with small puffy clouds drifting past but her mind ignored that as well as the buildings opposite the skyscraper the company occupied. What had she done to make him ignore her and not call? Or was it a tactic? She couldn’t recall anything negative about their time together, only that both of them experienced a very agreeable session. It was infuriating. Suddenly she turned to Wendy who had made a joke. “Focus, ladies,” she snapped.
