“Yes. I don’t work anymore but I have breakfast at this time, same as when I did go to work.”

                Jill ushered Markus to a chair in the living room which had a table almost completely covered with paper, newspapers and magazines. She pushed aside papers to make space for them to have their cups of beverage. Jill went about making coffee and tea without speaking. When she returned she placed a cup in front of Markus and her teapot on one edge of the table. After another trip to the kitchen, she set down her cup, milk and sugar. “Help yourself. Now what’s this all about?”
