That afternoon Markus met with Dean Foster and discussed the approach Dean had in mind. Dean said he had agreed to meet the private dick so that matters wouldn’t get out of hand and because he was curious why a private detective had been hired to find the son of the murdered woman. Once Markus explained how Colin might be implicated in the Sydney murders, Dean said he was happy for Markus to take over. He had no vested interest in the session and was happy to stay out of it. Markus was pleased with the outcome and shook the stocky detective’s hand after the meeting.
