Chapter 47

Nick Campbell called Markus in the middle of his home-made dinner of Spaghetti Carbonara. It was nine-twenty and Markus had had a long unproductive day at the office. “Yes,” snapped Markus who was hungry and in no mood for conversation.

“Hi Markus, it’s Nick, have I caught you at a bad time?”

“No Nick, just tired…lousy day. What can I do for you?”

“I’ll come straight to the point. There’s a guy making enquiries about Colin Meredith.”

Suddenly Markus’ spirits soared. Lethargy disappeared and his focus sharpened. “Tell me more.”
