Chapter 42
Bryan Carter was released on bail. He had been awaiting a court date and was jubilant when his lawyer advised him about what had occurred.
“What did I tell those fuckers?” he said.
Reuben Solski looked at his client who appeared arrogant and righteous, quite in contrast to his frightened demeanour throughout the ordeal. Reuben was a fifty-four year old defence attorney who had seen a lot in his long career. “Calm down, just be thankful the matter of the murders is settled.”
“Be thankful! I’m going to sue the buggers.”
“You’re still being charged with aggravated assault so I’d be careful if I were you.” Reuben found this man annoying. Irritating. Obnoxious. But he had a duty despite his feelings about the client.
