Penelope breathed in and out, bending down, as Kathy came up, panting. Both women were exhausted.

“Let’s go to a bar and get a drink,” said Kathy, after a few minutes catching her breath, placing her hands on her hips. She possessed a slight built but stood an inch taller than Penelope in runners.

“Like this. I’ll need to shower first,” said Penelope. Usually, after an hour’s run, the girls had a white wine inside one of their flats and chatted. It all depended on where they ended up. Generally it was near Penelope’s place.

“Come inside then. We’ll shower and change.”
