“Did you have a bad experience with a dentist as a child?”

“Not really. Why do you want to talk about dentists? Tell me something about yourself.”

Rachel took another sip of coffee. “I’m married as you know and so I need to organise outings carefully. My husband’s very jealous. But my marriage has been dull for a while and I’m looking to connect with someone who’s nice and who will be a considerate lover.” She hoped her practised lie sounded credible.

“My marriage is no picnic either,” he said and grinned, “and I’m prepared to give love making a go with different chicks to see if we click. I try to make it good for her as well.”

“Well, I hope you don’t mind if we postpone the sex.”
