Markus shook hands with Duffield and followed Sally out. They walked up to the next level into Sally’s office which was a good deal smaller than Duffield’s. But then she wasn’t a partner and didn’t earn the big bucks for ordering other people around. She sat at her computer and soon retrieved the required contact details for a Carly Thompson which she handed to Markus. He thanked her and walked out to the elevator bank. While he was waiting he pulled out his iPhone and called Roger Hart at the Manly Police Station. He provided him with Daisy’s address he obtained from the dentist’s receptionist and asked whether he would organise a search of Daphne McDonald’s Palm Beach residence and to collect any computer which might be housed there.

This case was becoming larger than anyon...
