I’ve been thinking about the Tower of Babel today. All the people of the world worked together to build a tower so high that it annoyed God and he broke the tower and made all the people speak different languages so they couldn’t join forces against him again.

I wonder what he/she makes of the language interpreters at the UN General Assembly? Mind you, the countries there don’t seem to be very good at working together even when they can understand each other. It would be much better for our world if they could.

I’m not saying Castle Bailey Library is the UN, but it was certainly the scene of some unity through language today. I couldn’t be prouder because all this is thanks to my asking/bullying/manipulating/persauding (delete as applicable) my boss into our stocking more foreign...
