It’s official, the worst wallpaper in the universe is in a granny flat on a tiny country road four kilometres outside Cathard village.

How do I know this? Because I went to view that granny flat with Alex this afternoon. We had such high hopes.

“This is really exciting,” he said. “Our first ever viewing. Maybe this will be where we live together. We could move in by Christmas.”

“Alex, it’s only a fortnight until Christmas. We can’t move in that fast.”

“Maybe by the end of January. The rental agent said it’s ready for tenants immediately.”

“Dad says you should never believe a word an estate agent tells you.”

“Your father is a cynic.” He added a smile to that statement. He likes Dad.
