Linda has been a grouch all week. She hates when the school children have time off and flood the library. She grumbled when I did a Halloween-themed Story Time. She groaned when I asked her to do a spooky cup-cake decorating session for parent & child pairings, but she capitulated when Boss Lady gave her a budget. They made mini tomb-stones and iced spiders on top of livid green buttercream icing.

She grouched about my hanging up the Halloween bunting and plastic skeletons in the children’s area. I got the Addams Family theme tune stuck in my head that day.
