When my mother was a girl they ran an advert on TV to promote milk. The dairy promotion board  had decided the best way to sell all the milk from the cows of Ireland was to convince parents that their children would get rickets and suffer fractures if they didn’t drink milk at every meal.

Actually the campaign must have worked because my mother still always gives me a glass of milk to drink when I eat dinner at their house. She got a bone density scan done recently at the suggestion of her doctor and apparently she has the bones of an African rhino. She has been gloating about it ever since.

She would have approved of the young girl at Story Time today.

The ad involved a very basic cartoon of a dancing skeleton with the song “Dem Bones” playing over the top but...
