Sherlock Holmes was a great man for the whole “the game’s afoot, Watson” phrase. I assume this means it is off and running on its metaphorical feet. Well, as of this week there are changes afoot and I’m unsure how I feel about that because the changes are with Alex.

It was his birthday on Monday, which was great because I could have an entire day to spend with him, assuming he took the day off work for this birthday.

I firmly believe, and have done since I was very little, that nobody in this world should have to work on the day of their birthday.

Turns out Alex doesn’t know this rule. He hadn’t booked the day off.
