Happy World Book Day!

The concept of a day dedicated to celebrating books makes me both happy and sad. It’s wonderful to see social media fill with photos of children dressed as their favourite characters, but does it have to be just one day? Shouldn’t schools, parents, and all readers celebrate books every day?

However, for the day that was in it I embraced my costume-loving side. Alex had decided to go to library HQ as the Artful Dodger thanks to finding an old top hat in his parents’ attic. He doesn’t interact with the general public but a few of the behind the scenes staff had decided to join in regardless.

Linda refused point blank to engage with any dressing up “nonsense” and Boss Lady always points out that her “role isn’t customer focused”...
