Today is Saturday so my morning was filled by preparing for Story Time, doing it, and tidying up afterwards. It’s a pretty good way to spend a morning and one of my favourite times of the week.

I remember when I first started working in Castle Bailey and had to do this task. It used to utterly terrify me. The prospect of facing down a waiting audience of young children and their tired, distracted parents was overwhelming. How to catch and hold the attention of kids who want to shove their siblings or simply don’t know what’s going on is not a simple task.

Thankfully Story Time is more fun now for me, and hopefully for the children too. But it is still absolute chaos. I guess I’ve made my peace with the random energy. And Bob helps, of course.
