After the highs of the library being on national TV, this week I came back to reality with a resounding thump. It started around eleven o’clock on Tuesday morning.

“Linda, I’m boiling the kettle. Do you want a cup?”

My senior librarian gave me the look she reserves for utter idiots. “Of course.”

Linda always wants a cup of tea. I suspect if she went for blood tests, the results would be Assam, Darjeeling, or on a fancy day - Earl Grey. She has to go for professional dental cleaning every three months to remove the stains on her teeth but she considers that an acceptable price to pay for her addiction.
