I’ve just spent ages trying to convince my housemates that this story is true. I don’t think they believe me, but it really did happen.

It started when one of my Secret Teen Book Club girls asked me a question.

“Hey, Nina. Do you have a lot of books with a ship on the front?”

I stared at her. I expect these random queries but I thought my Secret Teens were smarter than that.

“Yes?”

“Like, how many do you think?”

I blew out a breath and shrugged. “I don’t know, probably at least fifty. Military and naval history, a few thrillers, yachts and such on contemporary women’s fiction and maybe pirate ships on books for children. Actually yeah, we’d have fifty or more.”
