To be clear, I am very sorry about Linda’s leg. It was awful when it happened and I will never forget how pale she went, her shivering with shock, and her fainting from the pain when the paramedics moved her, ever so gently, onto the stretcher for the ambulance.

But.

Queen Linda is now reigning supreme at the library and I’m not enjoying being her maid servant. Maybe that makes me a bad person?

She doesn’t need a wheelchair and after she gets her cast off she will be able to manage with a rigid boot and only one crutch, which is great news but you would think that she had been subject to an amputation from the way she is behaving.

“Nina, can you get me a cup of tea?”

“Nina, I can’t push the returns trolley.”
