You never know with boyfriends if they are romantic, not initially. Of course there’s romantic flirting and pleasant early dates. But everybody does that at the start. How do you know if that’s their normal method of operation because they’re a romantic fool or if it’s just a strong early effort to get you to go out with them.

Before I sound like a needy woman or that I think the man should make all the running let me put it down in writing - I’m completely fine with women being the romantic one and I don’t believe men should automatically pay for everything. I’ve asked guys out in the past (he said yes, it didn’t last).
