Tonight Alex and I had dinner at Imelda and Zara’s apartment. I’ve been putting this off ever since the day I told Imelda about us dating.

There’s little reason for Imelda and I to be in contact for library business except when I fill in for her annual leave. I’m her preferred substitute apparently which is very kind of her as she knows I need an annual break from Linda. For the last six weeks, however, Imelda has found an excuse to ring me each week and to remind me that she and Zara would adore to have us over for a casual dinner.
