I managed to get through my final day before the book club trip without killing Linda. As usual Boss Lady and Linda both tried to get me to do ten days of work in one day and hence leave the library to run seamlessly in my absence but I wasn’t in the mood, funnily enough, and did the basics, packed up my bag, set my “out of office” on my email, and left.

There are four events scheduled while I’m away. I doubt they have any chance of stumbling through them, but that’s not my problem.

The biggest issues I have now are how to squeeze another book into the back of Mary’s car and how to cope with yet another hangover. Yes, it’s the Bailey Bookworms Mad Book Holiday.

We’ve been scheming for months. It’s all a book’s fault, of course....
