I can’t believe I haven’t told my book club friends about Alex. I couldn’t get a word in after Julia’s announcement that she’s expecting a baby. Everybody was delighted for her, although I will miss her as she’ll be too busy, and probably too tired, to attend knit group or the book club for a while when the baby is tiny.

She insisted she would still go on our Book Club Adventure this autumn though which is good news, I think. I’m not sure how well a ferry trip will work with morning sickness. She swore she’d be fine. She’s determined to carve out some time for herself.
