The play’s opening night was a sellout. “A sellout, Nina!” Tom’s blue scarf flapped as he grabbed my hands and bounced on the balls of his feet. His energy was infectious. “Too perfect.” The director whirled away.
Alex appeared at my side. “Not our regular library user, is he?”
“Nope. He’s one of a kind. Hey, glad you made it.”
“Of course, wouldn’t miss it. I’m over there with Imelda and Zara. They want to be up the front so Imelda can see.”
I waved over at my rather short mobile library unit friend. “See you after. I’m on lights.”
“What?”
“Yeah, they’re a bit short-handed. Linda is doing teas afterwards. Tom is a hard man to turn down.”
