It’s March and in recent years that meant only one thing - preparing the library’s entry in the annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade. The giant papier mâché reading brain was a triumph thanks to Russell’s wonderful skills and Bob the Library Bear became a local celebrity, but the worker bee getting it all organised is me and I’ve been feeling the pressure.

This year I’d decided enough was enough. The rest of the library community would have to step up. In theory this is brilliant as many hands make light work and all that. In practice it’s a little more complicated.

Several groups volunteered to get involved but none of the groups know each other and all the questions are directed to me.
