I haven’t seen Marcus the jazz musician since his “tootle pip” goodbye last week. I’ll go to his band’s gig in the Goose Inn though. I don’t know much about jazz but the idea of combining music with a Sunday brunch sounds good.

Usually I work on a Sunday but now we have Jim as a reliable temp librarian it’s easier to book off random days rather than sticking to blocks of one week at a time. Jim has started his library and information studies course now but is very happy to pick up a work shift whenever possible.

I haven’t mentioned the jazz brunch to Alex or to the book club women yet as I’m not sure which ones to invite. I tried Mick, Ger, and Tom but their response to jazz was a hard no. Mick isn’t into music at all. Ger is a country...
