I should have guessed that Linda would be back to her old tricks when I unpacked our Christmas decorations this year. The first item out of storage was our Library Christmas Elf. He caused havoc in the library last year with significant and stealthy help provided by our senior librarian.

Linda doesn’t interact with Bob, our library bear, during the year. She leaves it to me to pose him, bring him to Story Time readings, and to run his very active social media account. He has 8,039 followers on twitter as of this morning which way more than the library itself (347) and my book review blog (521).

Elf, however, provides a way for her to channel her inner naughty child. I’m sure a therapist would have plenty to say about her desire to cause trouble in her workplace and to undermine autho...
