The longer I work as a librarian, the more I realise we couldn’t do our jobs without the help of the community around us. Obviously without Castle Bailey we wouldn’t have readers and event participants but it’s more than that. Locals dropping their books back mention great new authors we should stock, the interaction with the school groups is invigorating (although hard work sometimes and never to be attempted with a hangover).

The various community groups who use our space bring mayhem as well as creativity to the building. They provide energy, suggestions, complaints, and fun in equal measure.
