“My Dad runs his own haulage company.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, he has a fleet of ten trucks. It’s not a big operation but he makes a living. All of us have our HGV, even Mum. You’d be amazed how often he ends up short-staffed because somebody is sick, a truck breaks down, or a driver quits at short notice. We pitch in if he’s stuck. Mum says she loves the look on customer’s faces when she climbs down out of the cab. She’s barely five feet tall.”
