I’ve been humming a tune about teddy bear picnics all week and for once I’ve been driving Linda crazy instead of the other way around.

“You’re in for a big surprise,” I warbled.

“Seriously?” She groaned. “That tune is stuck in my head now. Thanks a mill.”

“Ear worm. But at least it’s a good tune.”

“That’s a matter of opinion, Nina.”

I lifted our Library Bear down from his windowsill and helped him to wave at my colleague. “Bob likes it.”

She offered a faint smile in return. “He would.”

I gathered my stack of large format picture books and with Bob under my arm went down the corridor to the back door.
