I will never understand why the Easter Bunny is a rabbit. She distributes eggs, so shouldn’t it be a bird or dinosaur? I get the whole egg thing - symbol of spring and rebirth - but birds have new little chicks in spring too, wouldn’t that do as a symbol? Crazy stuff.

I got to play the Easter Bunny, or Easter Chicken, today in the Library. It was Good Friday and after the egg hunt on Easter Saturday morning we’ll be closed until next Wednesday so it was one final job to do before taking a break. I always seem to be run off my feet at work when we’re due to close, or before I take my annual leave. I get flooded with last minute requests and tasks that simply can’t wait until we return.

Non-librarians don’t see libraries as being particularly deadline driven....
