I never remember that the first of April is April Fool’s Day. I did when I was eight years old and tried to trick my friends and teachers, but it’s not important to me anymore. On the first of the month I’m busy running a slew of reports for Boss Lady to send to Library HQ to justify our continued existence as a small under-funded public library.
Linda, however, has other ideas about April Fool’s Day. She’s a big fan. Huge. And I’m naive enough to fall for her tricks every year.
Today it started with the big black rubber spider perched on the milk carton in the break room fridge.
