It started with Linda having an idea.

I complain about Linda being lazy (and she is) but I’ve never said she’s stupid. Actually it takes a certain amount of effort and ingenuity to avoid work to the grand extent she manages daily. When she stayed back after we closed the library yesterday I knew something was up.

“Come on, Nina. We’re meeting upstairs.”

I powered down the issue desk computer and grabbed a notebook and pen. If Linda was going to do something extraordinary I wanted to record it. That way she couldn’t deny it later.

At the top of the stairs she turned right for the community meeting room rather than Boss Lady’s office, somewhat to my surprise.
