This year I will make Castle Bailey Library the most festive space in town. It will take more than a Santa hat on Bob the Library Bear but I’m starting early and won’t let up until even Linda has uttered a happy HoHoHo instead of Bah Humbug. I mean, she should like Christmas - it’s a brilliant time for baking.

She explained her lack of enthusiasm to me this morning, in response to my cheerful festive greeting on the first morning of December.

“No, don’t come near me with a piece of tinsel until Christmas Eve.” She backed away from me.

“We’re not open on Christmas Eve.”

“Perfect.”

“What happened to the most wonderful time of the year?”

“Bah humbug.”

I was surprised she even knew the Scrooge...
