A year ago today I walked into Castle Bailey Library and met Linda and Boss Lady. Now they feel like family, a dysfunctional family, but family nonetheless. I don’t have to read Linda’s enormous Training Folders of Doom anymore although I’ve plenty still to learn. I’m definitely going to get her to teach me how to wolf-whistle.

Some of our library visitors are wonderful and so generous with their time - Marina is teaching me more Irish Sign Language, Julia has offered to teach me how to knit, Jack Reilly wants me to join the chess club (I won’t, they’re too intense), and Alex our Inter Library Loan guy always makes me laugh on the phone. The teens in the Secret Teen Book Club are adorable. I wish I had been as smart and sassy as them when I was their age.
