Does anybody, in any job, enjoy meetings? I know I don’t. Although I suspect Boss Lady adores them.
She certainly enjoys scheduling them and Linda relishes avoiding them. Her objection is that because we have a tiny staff for our little library the three of us can only meet when the library is closed to the public. In Linda’s mind this equates to unpaid overtime.
I’ve tried explaining that we’re contracted to work more than just the library opening hours. For example, on Mondays we are open from ten in the morning to half past five in the evening. At least one librarian is scheduled (usually me) to arrive by 9.30 at the latest to open up.
