We got Frank’s fire safety inspection report at the end of the week. As expected, we failed. Boss Lady called an emergency meeting in her office after we closed for the day.

“Right, I’ve been on the phone to our local Fire Chief. He says we’ve got to fix the red issues within the week or he’ll have to close us down. I think the only reason he hasn’t reported us already is because his brother signed off on the renovations in the first place.”

I still haven’t worked out how we got our fire compliance certificate after those renovations. I mean, what fire inspector would sign off on an emergency exit door that leads nowhere? I’m hoping Boss Lady didn’t provide a bribe. Linda won’t tell me anything about it.
