When I was a little girl my teacher was fond of a game called Simon Says. She would play it with the class when it was our turn to get some exercise and the whole class was nuts for it. Please bear in mind, we were only six at the time.

She would be Simon, directing us all in the outdoor play area behind the school.

“Simon Says hop on one leg,” she said.

We all hopped on one leg. Several children fell over. We were not the most co-ordinated bunch of youngsters.

You kept hopping until Simon said something else.

“Simon Says spin on the spot.”

Everybody loved that one. Getting ridiculously dizzy was a great excuse for falling down, again.

“Simon Says jump up and down.”

No problem. Off we went.
