Readers don’t always know the name of the book they are seeking and they almost always don’t know the name of the author unless it’s a Super Famous Writer like Stephen King, John Grisham, or JK Rowling. If they ask Linda the conversation takes a predictable route.
“Hello, I’m looking for the new book by the woman who wrote about the cranky old lady in Maine, Olive something.”
“What’s the title?”
“I’m not sure, it might have Olive in the name again?”
Sigh. Eye-roll. “Who’s the author?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t remember.”
