“Nina, can you get the display stands out of the shed, please?”
Boss Lady laid a large black portfolio case across the books I was repairing. Her request couldn’t wait, it seemed. “These need to be on display until the end of the month.”
“Sure.”
She retreated to her upstairs sanctum and I unzipped the portfolio case expecting a new photography exhibition or artwork from one of the local schools. The library isn’t a gallery but it could be mistaken for such at times. We’re a free public space to display things. We’re probably the only free gathering or display spot in the town unless you count the tiny local park.
Most of the groups who meet in the community room concoct some reason to get their work on the display boards at least once...
